How difficult are bank exams?

The banking jobs are one of the most desired jobs in our country. It is because of its job security, good salary packages, high socials status and above all a secured future, which is desired by every Indian middle class person. Therefore, the competition for these jobs are predictably fierce and tough where the best of talents compete for their place in public sector banks either through Bank Clerk or Bank PO exam. Despite the fact that syllabuses of banking competitive exams look familiar, the competition levels of these exams are very high which makes it as one of the toughest competitive exams of India.

In this article, we will discuss the reasons for the question- Why bank exams are so tough?
The first basic reason is that the eligibility criterion of bank exams is University Degree, which opens the competition for millions of candidates nationwide. It means that millions of candidates are competing for handful of seats and so cut-off will be very high. In last few years, the engineering graduates are too choosing for banking jobs and this makes competition very tough for graduates of other streams. The engineering graduates have good logical and analytical abilities and so they can score well in Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude Section without much effort. The competition becomes tougher for the rest of the candidates as they have to work hard in topics like Mathematics and Reasoning Ability. The other reason is that every candidate applies for almost every banking competitive exam. It decreases the probability of selection and it become almost impossible for an average student to qualify any bank exam in his first attempt. There are also thousands of candidates who are reappearing in these competitive exams and so they are presumably more prepared than rest of the candidates. It gives them an extra edge.

Besides these important facts, the two major aspects which plays decisive role in qualifying bank exams are – Speed of Answering Questions and Accuracy of Answering Questions. Generally speaking, every banking competitive written exam is conducted through recruitment drive where a candidate has to first clear Preliminary round and then he is eligible for the Mains exam. The Preliminary Exam is like “filtration process” where handfuls of candidates are shortlisted, out of million candidates. It is only the deserving candidates which make their way into Mains Exam. It implies that you are required to have comprehensive knowledge of basics of every concept, as Prelims exams tests your conceptual knowledge through online objective test. The Mains Exam is a real test of your capabilities, aptitude and intellect where you have to solve maximum questions correctly in allotted minimum time. It requires good speed of answering questions and that too with accuracy. There is negative marking in every bank exams and so every wrong answer results in negative marking. The accumulation of negative marks can severely affect your final score and thus can jeopardize your selection prospects.

Now, comes the most important aspect and that is well-strategized preparation for banking exams, which requires your good grasping power, brilliant memorizing skills, consistency, determination and hard-work. The syllabuses for bank exams are elaborate and so you should organize a time table for your preparation. It’s a tedious and consistent process and so candidates prefer to join coaching courses (offline/online) or download competently prepared Android App. The students prefer the mode of Android App because of its accessibility and comfort of using it at their ease. The preparations of bank exams are becoming easier with MakeMyExam - SSC & Bank Prepration Android App but individual efforts have to be put in to become successful. It has simplified the learning methods and given more hope of success to the students. It is because it provides comprehensive study material which is prepared by set of experienced educationists who are qualified and proficient in their subjects.

Without a shred of doubt, banking exams are one of the toughest competitive exams for many reasons but still they are not impossible tasks by any standards. The students should be aware of latest syllabus and exam pattern and should be well determined to prepare all the subjects with best of their efforts. There have been success stories in the past and it’s time to repeat them with your sheer hard work and determination.

All the Best!!!
